Hello everyone!
Just to catch anyone up who may be interested in what Josh & I are doing...we moved to California!
Okay back up. Well the month before Josh graduated we started talking about what our plan for after graduation was going to be. We kind of figured by this time we would have at least had some pretty serious job opportunities. So since that hadn't happened yet, I suggested that maybe rather than staying in Las Cruces into the hot summer we could temporarily move to California and continue to job search here.
It didn't take much convincing, and over the next week or so we prayed about it, looked at how it would benefit us financially, spoke with family about staying with them, and then eventually looked into storage units. The plan at this point is that Josh will get a job in the next month or two...maybe three. We are pretty open to whatever God's plan, as long as it's somewhere around the next few months. (Kidding! But it would be a good test of faith if that didn't happen.)
When Josh gets a job we will move to wherever that takes us. Right now we are specifically looking at the LA/OC area, Denver/Colorado Springs, and Portland/Vancouver. I would enjoy the challenges and adventures that living in any of those places offer, but mostly just the opportunity to see how God provides for Josh and I, and opportunities for us to grow in our relationship with each other and Him. Whenever we find out where we will be more permanently living, we will then figure out how to move our furniture, clothes, etc there from our storage unit in Las Cruces.
Right now we are staying with my dad's parents and loving it. They are fun and laid back, we love living here with all it's benefits. We also enjoy being available to help my grandparents with any little things that they can't get around to in their busy lives. We are looking forward to doing some ministry things with the young adults group at our church, and ministering to the people around us as much as we can.
Please be praying for Josh in his search for a job, and that he would have chances to witness to and bless people in that process! Please pray that I will be an encouragement to the people around me, specifically people I am baby-sitting for and my own family as I spend much time helping them and being with them. Also pray that Josh and I will look to the Lord for our hope and joy in every day life and look for ways to serve others in this time that we don't have jobs or other major commitments.
I will be putting up more pictures of the last month soon. They are now on my computer, named, and sorted, so now I just need to upload them when I have time to organize and post them!
