California Activities

Rebecca was our resident expert plumber for the new patio we put in! She took the sprinkler lines and extended them to past where the pavers would go so the grass could still be watered. Jonathan and Ethan were great help with that. =)

Grams soaking up the sun and overseeing the project!

Sarah was exhausted from juggling school and having Sam there.
Jonathan joined her after he finished his nap.

Badminton boys!

This whole project was thought of after our camping trip in March when I made some comments about using the canopy in the back yard for the summer. Mom & Dad bought the pavers on Craigslist for a great deal as well as a whole set of patio furniture! It was amazing that this entire project was done in just under a week!

After the stones were set we had to sweet and pack sand into the cracks
It became a fun family activity!

That night Sarah made tortas and we had Joel and Amy over for dinner.
Sarah's Mexican dish was a big hit although it took some convincing a few people to put beans on bread...

We played a really fun game that Joel's family taught us. Two lines of people hold hands and compete against each other to rotate completely through the line. The two people at the front of the line watch a coin get flipped and if it's heads they squeeze hands and the last person has to try and grab an apple. Whoever gets the apple gets to go to the front of the line. But if you grab the apple and it was tails you rotate the other way. This was a fun game and especially funny when people would squeeze at the wrong time over and over!
