Rosemead Invitational Meet

Just wanted to get some pictures from today's meet up real quick!

Today Joshy had his first pretty competative meet! It was at Rosemead High School and he ran with a group of about 270 freshmen. He came in 14th place and ran 3.1 miles in 16 minutes and 50 seconds. So suffice it to say it really was so much fun to be there and watch him do so well in a large group of boys his own age. We're so proud of his hard work and are glad to see his endurance paying off!

This is the beginning of the race. It's hard to see him, it's kind of just his face and he's mostly hidden behind some other kids.

This was coming into the home stretch. At this point he was in 15th place, but passed the boy in front of him in the last 10 yards.

Joshy's First Cross Country Meet

On Thursday after school, Joshy had his first Cross Country meet! This was very exciting for us. He had been practicing with them for about a month leading up to school starting and we have all been proud of how hard he has worked to condition himself and do his best during practices.

Cross country isn't an incredibly interesting sport to watch. We saw them start off, then walked to the street where they eventually ran by, and then went back to the start which was also the finish line. This was about a 3 mile race.

Almost to the turn around and the home stretch!

Joshy and some of the little cousins!

He did extremely well! I'm not sure what his time was, but something in the 19 minute zone. He placed 6th which earned him a spot on the varsity team. Yikes!

Labour Day

On Labour Day this year we gathered at my parent's house and had a bbq! Food was plentiful, company was good, and the weather was really not so bad.

After our early dinner we went to the park and set up our giant slip n slide! It was the first time the little cousins had done it and they had tons of fun!
