Project - making a weekly planner!

Last Sunday Dani was talking about wanting to make something to keep track of her weekly schedule on. We started brainstorming and searching the internet for ideas!
We went several places trying to find supplies for the one we decided on and it utterly failed. We tried and tried to make it work but simply couldn't. In an attempt to actually make something work we wandered around Lowe's until we stumbled on a great idea...

Making the schedule with bathroom tiles!

We picked out the tiles, numbered them and worked out how many we needed

We bought other supplies we'd need such as an adhesive, tile spacers, etc.

Measure, glue, set, adjust, repeat.

We spray painted blackboard paint on the unused section of the board.

The beautiful outcome!

Trip to Colorado

A couple weeks ago my bosses took a week for a business trip. As I had nothing to do with my time off and wasn't sure if I would get any more leave before summer I decided to visit some friends in Colorado! I got on the bus in the mid evening on Friday and arrived in Denver Saturday morning!

One of the nights I stayed with the Gilchrist's we did a girls night upstairs while the boys had some fun of their own downstairs.

Us girlies did nails and watched Barbie Princess and the Pauper!

On our way to the park on Monday afternoon after school

We got a big snow one night and the kids had a ton of fun playing in it!

After a fun time with the Gilchrist family they took me to the Sadlo's house in Colorado Springs. I had such a wonderful time with them too! I didn't take as many pictures but I did manage a few before I left.

We took a fun afternoon trip to a little town called Manitou Springs

Chaela and I loved this purple and yellow house!

This was taken driving through Garden of the Gods

We had lunch in this cute little middle eastern restaurant

We shared a sampler that included lamb, beef, chicken, hummace, pita, and falafel.

We also bought some baklava - yum!

One night we played Clue together - one of my favourite games of all time!

I had so much fun seeing all my friends. I had wonderful talks with them and was very blessed by their hospitality and kindness. It was so good to catch up and experience their lives in Colorado!

Hike with the boys

The week after we got back Josh's parents were away for the weekend and asked if we would spend some time with the boys on Saturday. Josh and I were already planning to go on a hike so we just took the boys along with us!

We probably didn't go more than a mile but it was a fun time to get some fresh air and have a picnic. Sandwiches never taste better than after a hike!

It was an amazingly warm day to be able to wear a tank top in January. =O

Evening in Peoria

On our way home we stopped in Peoria to spend the evening with family.
We had a great time as always visiting and spending time with relatives there!

Josh and Cameron playing a game together

We had a lot of time playing Nertz then Spoons!

Jerod and I made a great team!

Last evening

Here are some pictures of our last evening in town

There was one egg sitting in a plastic container and Mom said it was hard boiled.
It seemed like a waste of space so I came up with a solution! =)
